Life is a journey filled with challenges, uncertainties, and periods of waiting. At times, we may feel overwhelmed by the circumstances around us and tempted to give up. However, it is precisely in these moments that we need to hold onto faith, trust in God's plan, and remember that the new thing we are longing for might be just around the corner.

James 1:12 encourages us to persevere through trials, trusting that God is working behind the scenes to bring something greater into our lives. There is a beautiful truth that resonates through scripture: just when we think we cannot go any further, a new season, a new blessing, or a new opportunity is often on the horizon. When we feel exhausted or discouraged, God’s promises remind us that He always works things out for our good.

Be encouraged with the five Biblical principles below to keep the faith alive regardless of the circumstances you’re in.

1. God’s Timing is Perfect

One of the most important aspects of trusting in God’s plan is recognizing that His timing is perfect. We may feel like we are running out of time or that we are stuck in the same place, but God’s word assures us that He knows what is best for us and that He is never late.

Isaiah 60:22b (NLT) says, "When the time is right, I, the Lord, will make it happen." This scripture reminds us that God's timing is beyond our understanding, and although we may feel like we are waiting forever, His plan is already unfolding in ways that we cannot always see.

The story of Joseph in Genesis illustrates the idea of waiting for the right moment. Joseph’s journey from being sold into slavery by his brothers to becoming second-in-command in Egypt took many years. He faced many setbacks, but through it all, God was shaping him for the purpose He had for Joseph's life. When the time was right, Joseph was positioned to help his family and countless others, and God’s greater purpose for him was revealed. Where you are now is a step in the ladder to where

God is taking you and you will get there in Jesus’ name. Persevere and celebrate.

2. Embrace the New Thing

Sometimes, our resistance to change can prevent us from experiencing the "new thing" that God has for us. When we are comfortable in our current situation, we may hesitate to step out of our comfort zones, even if that means walking away from something that no longer serves us. However, God is always leading us forward into new and better things.

Isaiah 43:18-19 encourages us to let go of the past and embrace what is ahead:"Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland." This passage speaks to the power of embracing change, even when it feels daunting. God promises that even when we face wilderness and

dry seasons, He will make a way and provide streams of renewal. The "new thing" may be a fresh opportunity, a change in direction, or the start of a new chapter that will lead us to growth and fulfilment. But first, we must let go of the past to make room for the new blessings that God wants to pour into our lives.

3. Trust in the Process

When we are in the midst of difficult times, it’s easy to lose sight of what is ahead. The process of waiting, learning, and growing can feel discouraging, especially when the results seem far off. However, Scripture teaches us that the process is just as important as the destination. Romans 5:3-4 reminds us, "Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope."

Every trial you face is a stepping stone toward building resilience, strength, and hope. The challenges we experience are not in vain; they prepare us for the good things that lie ahead. Even when the road is long and tough, we can trust that God is shaping us into the person He intends us to be.

4. Don’t Give Up: God is Working Behind the Scenes

Sometimes it’s hard to see how things could improve. You may feel as if all your efforts are in vain, or that you're stuck in a never-ending cycle of disappointment. But God's word assures us that even when we can't see His hand at work, He is still moving on our behalf.

Romans 8:28 encourages us, "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose."

This verse is a powerful reminder that God is always working behind the scenes. Even when circumstances seem bleak, He is working all things for our good. It’s easy to give up when we can’t see the immediate results, but we must trust that God is in control, orchestrating events and preparing us for the new opportunities that lie ahead.

5. Hold on to Hope

Finally, no matter what you are going through, it’s important to hold onto hope. Hope is what gives us the strength to continue when we feel like giving up. It’s the belief that something better is coming, that God's promises are true, and that His plans for us are always good.

Jeremiah 29:11 provides a powerful reminder of God’s plans for us: "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future"

Even in moments of difficulty, God’s plans are always filled with hope for the future. His plans for us are good, and His word assures us that He is always working for our ultimate good.

Conclusion

If you are faced with challenges in life, remember never to give up, because the new thing is on the horizon. Trust that God is working on your behalf, even when you can’t see it. His timing is perfect, His plans are good, and He is always leading you to a future filled with hope. Remember that change is often the precursor to something greater. Embrace the new things God wants to bring into your life, trust in His process, and hold onto hope. The new thing is just ahead, and with faith and perseverance, you will walk into it stronger and more prepared for the blessings that await.

Prayer:

Father, I thank You for the reminder that You are always at work, even when I am blinded to see it. Help me to trust in Your perfect timing and embrace the new things You are preparing for me. Strengthen my faith by Your Spirit and give me hope as I walk through challenges, knowing that You are with me every step of the way. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
